Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 10:30 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Hong Kong House at (916) 361-8388; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sacramento follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We’ve been going to this place for over a year usually for takeout when I don’t want to cook. The food has been inconsistent, most likely due to the chef. We’ve picked up food in various different days of the week and it’s getting worse. We try different food items on the menu, mainly we get the spicy salted chicken pieces and/or salted spicy pork chops and several times the food takes like it’s been sitting there. The eggs rolls taste like they have ginger or something else in there; not a fan. The deep fried tofu with shrimp wasn’t that good; too much sauce, the tofu didn’t have a crisp taste to them at all. The Mongolian beef was also very saucy and you don’t taste a crispy flavored beef; also very saucy. I think we’ll find a different Chinese Food restaurant until things change. I work very hard and when I don’t want to cook, I want a well cooked meal prepared for me.

Awesome staff. Helpful, attentive and made sure our party of 3 was well taken care of. The food is plentiful and tasty (excellent). We had 3 different meals and all 3 were good. I will be coming back for lunch again and probably order out on those "I don't feel like cooking dinner tonight". Thank you for the great experience.

I used to go to this place before covid happened. I tried their Singapore noodles before & didn't care for the way the chicken & shrimp were cooked. I think I came back once and tried another dish that wasn't a homerun either. During covid doors were securely locked, signs were posted everywhere stating no dining in. It was a big deal you were required to order over the phone, walk up to the door to hand your currency over. They'd lock the door go to the register to ring up your order, then bring your food and method of payment back to the locked guarded door and hand you your food along with your receipt. That was many years ago! So this week I wanted to give them another try. The doors were both accessible. Dining in is now available. There was approximately 2 sets of people dining. All the old signs to stay out and call in were gone. There's a nice long list of menu items and also a list of daily specials on a stand-up whiteboard sign. I was greeted upon entry. I ordered the eggplant 🍆 special plate with tofu. I thought I wanted to tell her to give me more veggies than tofu but, she did that naturally. the plate came with either rice or chow mein or both. I choose both so

keep raising prices 3 times within a year and a half 19.99 for Prawns!? not worth it rather go to the south Sacramento area! worth driving then have the audacity to Get confrontational because I told her last time I came in for the same item it went from 12.99 to 16.99 now 19.99 For the same dish I told her this was Ludacris And proudly stated I will gladly put the efforts In going elsewhere They’re taking advantage she said that her customer based is for working class That told me enough She’s over pricing And taking advantage Of the locals that actually take the time out to support her business However, I come from San Francisco And as you know, our Chinese food is very reasonable and enjoyable Those who know no this is far beyond highway robbery their pirates pho Bac in the south has better prizes appetizer as low as 7.50$ thank me Later, one entrée three appetizers, one glass of wine less than $60 And just to think I had ate half of the lemon pepper wings while in route home definitely worth traveling to South Sacramento Sometimes you have to humble yourself When you being rude to your customers among profiling
